Monday Update #87 | Changes and News

MIST v0.11 has released and with it the story for MIST has found it's conclusion. But there is still one more update to go before we'll move on for good. Let's talk about the next few weeks and some changes that the final release of MIST version 1.0 will bring.

Check out MIST on Steam:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1988740

The release date:
I've set a release date on Steam for the 30th of September. That's when I'll release MIST 1.0 on Steam, Itch and Patreon at the same time. So for those who are wondering, at the end of this month MIST will be finished once and for all.

Prices:
The game will cost 14,99$ on Itch and Steam. On Patreon, I'll move the game permanently behind the 5€ Tier. I've talked about this in Monday Update #85 already. Make sure to download Version 0.11 until then, if you haven't already. The game is now finished and I think it's fair to start charging money for it.

Differences between 0.11 and 1.0:
The fullversion of the game will have the identical content as 0.11 does, but I'm working on getting as many bugs out as possible and have corrected literally hundreds of spelling errors, I haven't done anything else for a week now. The steam version also adds cloudsaves and steam achievements.

After 1.0:
After the release of 1.0 I'll go on a vacation. Either before that or after, I'll reveal my next project. I'm already working on a trailer, but I can't tell you if I can finish it before I go on vacation or not. It depends on how much work I have to put into the final version of MIST. All I can say is that I'm trying my hardest to get MIST done and let you have a first look at the next project. Changes to the Frontpage: And one last personal change I want to make. Recently Patreon updated the creator page to be more mobile friendly. A change that, by accident, hid the amount of money I make on Patreon from the page. Basically making it so that whenever I opened Patreon to check comments I didn't see the number anymore.

I think transparency is important and so I didn't like that it got more difficult to see my earnings and thats also why you can see them, even though others hide them. I want you to know how much I earn before you pledge. But exactly that is something I  want to change. They have now fixed the frontpage and I can see my money again. And I realized that these past two months I was so much more relaxed about the money and so much more focused on the game. Seeing that number everyday just hurts my mental and I want to turn it off. I'm still gonna leave the patron count that shows the amount of people though. I hope that is fine for everyone. I'm gonna lose some transparency, I know. But it's gonna make me much calmer and I really need that.

And that is all from me. Another roadmap, basically the same as Monday Update#85, but I thought it was important to say it once again in case people missed my previous post.

This Monday Update is a bit too short for what I want to say and what I feel right now after releasing 0.11 but I'm still gonna hold back with the sentimental stuff. Once MIST is fully finished I'll make a big post about the past years and my experience  and I want to properly thank everyone, it'll only have to wait a few more weeks. You'll hear from me soon. Have a nice week everyone!

It will be sad to see MIST in its completion, but all good things must come to a conclusion. I havent finished the newest content yet since I moved my gaming to my mostly finished gaming rig.  This game was definitely ahead of its time in my opinion. Been playing and following it for a couple years of so. Beautiful renders, rich storyline, amazing love scenes and full of emotions you dont get with alot of games. Truly a wonderful title!

thank you DEV for the amazing gift and this title will always be my favorite ! I cant wait to see the next project you undertake and I’ll surely know its your master piece since I can tell you put heart and soul into MIST!

Great stuff. Have a few too many long term commitments on Patreon to join there, but did do a one-off here at least. Really happy to see a project such as this one actually wrapping up. It’s quite sad to see the amount of abandonware that happens as creators burn out or get way too caught up by the rest of life.

If nothing else, this milestone alone is a huge mark of success. Congratulations on getting here. Going to skip 0.11 and wait fro 1.0 to see the conclusion on my end, tho =)

As for hiding the patreon money…. again, as someone who didn’t make it into your patrons specifically, I can’t say anything too personal but I generally don’t expect any of this type of independent creator to be making significant amounts of money anyway. Things always look impressive until you check how much is rent, for one. Whatever makes you healthier, that’s the key

I promise I got u next payday

I thank you (again) for creating such a wunderful piece of art.

For the last meters on your road to giving it the finishing touches wish you strength. Your  vacation is more than well deserved and I will be interested in your future projects <3
